Welcome to all of our new Rocky Mount parents and students! The PTA and I hosted a Newcomer’s Coffee earlier this month and were excited to have so many of our new parents attend! I was struck by their energy and enthusiasm and their desire to become part of this outstanding community. As the school year kicks into full gear and we all become busy with our individual lives, please remember our newcomers when you are asked to volunteer your time or energy. Rocky Mount is a great school because of the combined effort and support of all of our community.
One of the greatest aspects of my job is that on a daily basis I get to see the incredible talents of this staff. As I walk through the halls, I get a glimpse of a teacher sitting with a child to hear him/her read, watching him/her write, or talking about what happened that day or what they did over the weekend. It is amazing the number of different hats a teacher wears throughout the day. The teachers at Rocky Mount wear those different hats with ease. The love, the attention to detail and the desire to do what is best for every kid, every day just comes naturally to them!
